Born in the Soviet Union, Aram Khachaturian became his home-land’s representative composer although he never received any official training to the age of 18. His works during the World War II such as the “Gayane Ballet Suite” and “Symphony no. 2” reflected on the folk music of Armenia, Georgia, Turkey. This film cinematically portrays Khachaturian’s composition of the “Gayane,” particularly the song “Sabre Dance."
Yusup Razykov was born in 1957 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He graduated in 1986 from the Russian State University of Cinematography in Moscow and then wrote several film scripts. His feature film <The Shepherd> (2005) won an award at the Moscow Film Festival. He is a writer and director, known for <Shame> (2013) and <Turkish Sadle> (2017).
