Born in London in 1889, Charles Spencer Chaplin started his acting career at age 17, when he joined the prestigious Fred Karno troupe. He caught the eyes of the “Father of Comedy” Mack Sennett during his 1912 America tour and moved to the US. It was in 1914 when he first presented his signature character ‘the Tramp’ who wears a derby hat and short trousers and carries a stick. Since then, Chaplin created numerous masterpieces including < The Kid >, < City Lights > and < Modern Times >.
