Synopsis

Set in New York in 1972, explores John & Yoko¡¯s musical, personal, artistic, social and political world set against the backdrop of a turbulent era in American history. The film includes a wealth of previously unseen Lennon archives including personal phone calls, home movies filmed by John & Yoko as well as restored and remastered footage from the One to One Concert with remixed audio overseen by Sean Ono Lennon.

Program Note

John Lennon—was he truly here on this earth, living among us? Though undeniably a real person, at times he feels more like a myth. Through their daily lives, phone calls, news, and performances, this film presents John and Yoko from 1971 to 1973 as people who become 'real' to us once again. Like all memories, time scatters them into faint, nostalgic fragments. The film unfolds these fragments before us, where they become real within the film, then return to a dream. In the voices and songs that remain, he exists not as imagination but as reality. This is the magic of the film. (Yang hee)
