Synopsis

Twin sisters, driven by passion for piano, join an elite music university. Diagnosed with a debilitating illness threatening their hands, they refuse to abandon their dream, fighting to reinvent themselves as prodigious pianists.

Program Note

This film, directed by father and son Frédéric and Valentin Potier, is based on the inspiring true story of twin pianist sisters. Despite losing hand function due to a rare genetic disease, the sisters refuse to give up their dream and develop unique playing techniques to overcome adversity. After eight months of intensive training, these two leading actors performed the piano scenes themselves, delivering authentic sibling chemistry and delicately portraying family love and determination for music. The film's clean direction and sensitive camerawork capturing the characters' inner world move the audience, while their beautiful music blends seamlessly with the story, leaving a lasting impression.
