JIMFF Family section creates moments of connection through film that transcend generations and boundaries. It welcomes audiences with two subsections: Made in Jecheon and Cine Teenz.
Made in Jecheon features works by creators active in Jecheon or Chungcheongbuk-do, films shot in Jecheon, or films using Jecheon as a key motif. This regional competition discovers talented local filmmakers and offers Jecheon residents stories rooted in their community. The subsection presents one feature warmly portraying the daily lives of three multicultural teenagers in Jecheon, alongside eight shorts exploring diverse conflicts, struggles, comforts, and dreams within everyday realities.
Cine Teenz gathers four feature films suitable for young audiences and families. From classic musicals with memorable melodies to coming-of-age dramas about young musicians, Pakistan's first feature-length animation, and a documentary following an orchestra of developmentally disabled musicians living passionate lives—this subsection offers a variety of musical films across genres. Two films are presented in barrier-free versions with audio descriptions and voice narration to ensure broader accessibility.
Embracing regional spirit and generational empathy, the section invites audiences to share moments of laughter, tears, and heartfelt openness—whether through familiar stories or new encounters on screen.
