Program Note
An absurd incident unfolds for two families holding a funeral—the coffins of the deceased are mistakenly swapped. The two families, burdened by misunderstandings, often quarrel, leaving the silent departed aside. Frustrated by the adults, the children open their hearts to each other. Through the innocent eyes of the children, the film captures the gradual change in adults as they accept and understand the death of a loved one, slowly coming closer to one another. A final shot of the family standing side by side, now three instead of two, suggests a future of strengthened bonds. (Ho Jun Lee)
