A granddaughter delves into the relationship with her grandfather, a retired police officer who loves music, composing an animated mosaic of affections, doubts, and of lived, told and imagined memories.​

Guaracy is a stop-motion animation and intriguing patchwork work that organically connects memories of a grandfather through a clash of various textures and images. The film goes beyond a romantic, sentimental reflection on family memories, calmly exploring how sharing art creates human bonds. Art mediates individual memories, which through film become collective resonance. The style is warm, intimate, and original. Co-directed by Daniel Bruson, a Brazilian animator whose work Ninety-Five Senses was nominated for the 2024 Academy Award for Best Animated Short. (Im Sooyeon)
