Program Note
Club insomnia : Vinyl shines a light on day party culture unfolding not at night but in the city's bright daylight. This film captures the fourth party themed around 'vinyl,' following the third party focused on 'techno,' which was invited to and awarded at several film festivals. Through interviews with musicians who DJ using vinyl, the documentary explores why analog records endure in the digital age. This theme connects to broader retro cultures, including film cameras and cassette tapes. The film offers the joy of discovering new currents emerging from the roots of popular music. (Lim Sae-eun)
