Program Note
About 13 years ago, I saw a band perform at a film festival. I was the only audience member and, feeling sorry for them, I recorded their performance. That was their early days before they became somewhat well-known. Late... but tells the story of the punk band Far East Asia Saurs. Busking is exhausting, audiences are sparse, festivals are many but opportunities few, and connecting with producers is like reaching for the stars. Like its fresh subjects, the film is gentle, choosing to warmly observe rather than contrast harsh realities. The songs performed by the band are straightforward and lively, naturally moving the body. (Lee Yongcheol)
