Music Film Landscape comprises three subsections: Portraits of Musicians, Freestyle, and Musicscape. Portraits of Musicians traces artists' lives and creative journeys, revealing the human stories behind their work. Beyond the stage spotlight, these films explore the creative process, inner struggles, and the passage of time shaping artists alongside their era.
Freestyle offers the most dynamic view of contemporary music cinema. Crossing boundaries of genre, form, nationality, and style, the program shows how music films continue to evolve. Moving freely between fiction and documentary, reality and imagination, these works highlight the limitless possibilities of the genre.
Newly introduced this year, Musicscape expands beyond conventional filmmaking to explore how music and moving images intersect. Through music videos, live performances, and short-form works, the section introduces new visual languages where music comes alive. This year, music videos directed by filmmakers best known for their feature films are also featured in this section, offering a rare opportunity to discover the creative vision and distinctive sensibility continuing across different forms of audiovisual storytelling.
