Synopsis

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Seokju, who unexpectedly found herself responsible for reviewing online cultural center lectures, meets origami instructor Maengji at a climbing gym and they become friends. She thought their friendship would last forever, but as the pandemic subsides, everything becomes chaotic. Seokju faces the possibility of losing Maengji. Can Seokju truly restore their relationship?

Program Note

Seokju and Maengji, whose names are similar but whose personalities and tastes are complete opposites, share a high level of intuitive communication just by looking into each other's eyes. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, they meet as a cultural center instructor and a lecture video editor, eventually living together and deeply influencing each other¡¯s lives. This film, with its cute and cheerful tone, also carries a strong spirit of resistance against masculinity symbolized by the horizontal bar and the gaslighting behaviors that render women passive. The film is an adaptation of PULL UP, included in Ye Soyeon's short story collection Love and Flaws. (Ho Jun Lee)
