Jecheon Music Film Project Promotion (JPP) is designed to contribute to the mainstreaming of Korean music films and discovering and supporting music filmmakers. From 2008 to 2011, JPP supported the production of a total of six projects and was resumed in 2017 after a temporary interruption. In 2018, Trip of Blues and Super Disco were introduced to the audience, and in 2019 Shining Ground and Viva la Vida were screened, and in 2020 My $330 Guitar and Better place were as well, solidifying the identity of the Korean one and only music film fund. In 17th Jecheon International Music Film Festival, Song of the Poet and Oral Tradition Song will be presented in the Korean competition section as world premiere.
This year, JPP will continue to support the production of music films by expanding the fund. During the festival, 10 short and feature films’ pitching will be held at pitching event that will be held on August 15 (SUN) and August 16 (MON) over two days. The selected 4 to 5 projects of this fund will receive a total of KRW 110 million and post production support and the results will be announced at the closing ceremony.
