Looking for Talented Up-and-Coming Film Music Composers!

Jecheon International Music & Film Festival celebrates its 18th year and launches ‘JIMFF OST Market’ (from now on referred to as ‘OST Market’) for the first time in the world to discover new talents and support the debut of talented new musicians. We are looking for passionate and aspiring film music composers to participate in the first edition of 'OST Market.’

Graduates of the Jecheon International Music & Film Academy, which has been in existence for 16 years, are eligible to apply. The 5 finalists selected after 2 preliminary rounds will receive individual promotional opportunities and a mentoring session with an experienced showcase planner, among many other support services the festival provides. If a match is made between the finalists and film industry participants, up to USD 39,000 of music production funds will be awarded. A networking event is also planned, attended by film music directors and other personnel from various media industries. We are asking for the attention and participation of talented musicians who have yet to make their official debut or are looking for a more significant opportunity.

  • 5 Finalists will receive individual promotional opportunities addressed to the press and industry personnel

  • In case a matching is made, up to KRW 50,.000.000 will be awarded

  • Accommodation and a festival badge will be provided during the festival

Schedule
  • 1st Round : June 8 (WED) - June 9 (THU), 2022 / Result will be individually noticed on June 10 (FRI), 2022
  • 2nd Round : June 22 (WED), 2022 / Result will be individually noticed on June 24 (FRI), 2022
  • Workshop Orientation : July 1 (FRI), 2022 (Date and venue to be confirmed later)
  • Main event (Showcase, business meeting, networking party) : During the festival
Note
  • The submitted application documents cannot be returned or replaced.
  • The submitted documents will be handled with the utmost security, and all documents except those of the finalists will be destroyed accordingly after the event.
  • If any content of the submitted documents is found to be false, the applicant will be disqualified from participation.
  • The 5 finalists must attend and remain faithful to the scheduled orientation workshops and mentoring sessions that will be held on the designated dates.
  • The 5 finalists must attend the main event, the Showcase.
  • Each finalist who has found a match must sign a contract with the corresponding agency before the date set by the festival and abide by the festival’s agreement in order to receive the fund. If the finalist does not abide by the contents of the agreement, the fund may be revoked.
  • The agency that received the festival’s funding must credit the festival in the final version of the film. In the event that the film is included in the festival’s future programming, the agency must submit a digital copy with English subtitles suitable for theatrical screening.
  • The film may be used by the festival for non-commercial or promotional purposes.
