The 21st Jecheon International Music & Film Festival (JIMFF) will begin with a grand Opening Ceremony on Thursday, September 4, at 19:00 at a specially constructed stage at the Jecheon Airfield. The red carpet event will begin at 18:00, welcoming guests and celebrities ahead of the ceremony.
This year’s hosts for the Opening Ceremony are actor Lee Jun-hyuk and comedian Jang Do-yeon. Under the 2025 festival slogan, “All Together at JIMFF” , the festival continues its mission to unite music and film, creating a platform for shared experience and emotional resonance.
The ceremony will feature the screening of the official festival trailer, which encapsulates JIMFF’s vision and direction. One of the evening’s highlights will be the Jecheon Music Film Award, an honor presented to an individual who has achieved outstanding accomplishments at the intersection of cinema and music.
A special live performance by Lee Dong-jun, former executive chairman and renowned composer of scores for films such as Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War, Miracle in Cell No. 7, Love, Lies, the hit drama IRIS, and even the official anthem of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), will deliver a deeply moving musical tribute to the power of film scores.
Following the ceremony, the Opening Film The Musician, the latest work by director Grégory Magne will be screened at 20:20. This exclusive first screening offers audiences an emotional and resonant cinematic experience, perfectly encapsulating the spirit of JIMFF.
For those unable to attend in person, the Opening Ceremony will be livestreamed via Naver and the MBC Chungbuk YouTube Channel, ensuring that audiences across Korea and beyond can join in the celebration.
