Synopsis

In the summer of 2009, the first Jisan Valley Rock Festival was held, and Blur reunited and Oasis disbanded. For Su-min, a middle school student living in the countryside, all this seems far away. And that summer, Suzuki disappeared.

Program Note

Su-min, a middle school student living in a small town, is an ordinary boy who loves rock music. In an online music chat room, he meets someone with the nickname Suzuki, who becomes a refreshing presence in his otherwise monotonous life. However, one day Suzuki suddenly disappears without a trace, leaving Su-min with a deep sense of loss. Suzuki traces Su-min's memories as an adult now living in Seoul, reflecting on his middle school days in a small town and the summer of 2009, when the Jisan Rock Festival was first held. The film's delicate direction sensitively portrays the inner turmoil of a boy whose life is disrupted by the presence of someone who entered his otherwise dull existence. Through the medium of music, the film beautifully conveys the bittersweet nostalgia of those moments to the audience. (Choi Eunyoung)
