Synopsis

Over the course of five years, MÚSICA! follows four young Cubans who view music as a way of life. Through music, they hope to find success and fulfillment, some choosing to remain in Cuba, and some seeking to venture out into the world beyond.

Program Note

The film begins as the non-profit arts organization 'Horns for Havana', which has provided instruments and musical supplies to Cuba’s prestigious Amadeo Roldán Music School for over a decade, departs for Cuba to assist students. It portrays the bond between the students of the Cuban music school and Horns for Havana, focusing on the stories of four students who aspire to continue their music careers. The film’s highlight is the final scene, where the four students visit New Orleans, capturing the simple yet soulful setting of Cuban music and evoking the magical power of music to unite people.
