Synopsis

This is a documentary of the legendary Thanksgiving concert “The Last Waltz,” held on November 26, 1976, by “The Band,” who had led a generation since their debut album Music From Big Pink in 1968. The film features passionate performances from guest artists such as Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Neil Young, and Ringo Starr. The restored version of the film was screened at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

Martin Scorsese

Born in 1942 to Italian-American parents in New York, Martin Scorsese was known from a young age as a passionate film lover and collector. He graduated from NYU's graduate film school and went on to release a string of influential works including Mean Streets (1973), Taxi Driver (1976), and Raging Bull (1980), securing his status as a master of modern American cinema.
