Synopsis

A lip-sync musical featuring the voices of various actors, including Audrey Tautou of Amélie. Much like a Shakespearean comedy, lovers are star-crossed and tensions rise in exciting and hilarious ways. Resnais, who has been creating lighter and more cheerful works since the 1990s, perfectly blends chamber drama, musical, and cinema to once again affirm his mastery as a director.

Alain Resnais

Born in 1922 in Vannes, France, he studied at the prestigious IDHEC (Paris Film School). Initially known for directing documentaries, he released numerous feature films after his debut Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959). His films, which delve deeply into the concept of time, are regarded as the true beginning of modern cinema.
