Synopsis

Om Shanti Om is a romantic saga of a boy next door, Om Prakash Makhija (Shah Rukh Khan), who works as a junior artist in Bollywood in the 1970s. He is madly in love with the superstar of that time, Shantipriya (Deepika Padukone). His dreams and aspirations to become a superstar and be with his ladylove are thwarted as he witnesses the brutal murder of his beloved by a mercenary producer Mukesh Mehra (Arjun Rampal). Om Prakash dies trying to save his Shanti. But destiny has something else in store when ‘Om Prakash’, the junior artist, returns as ‘Om Kapoor’, the superstar of 2007. His journey of rediscovering himself, his past life, and avenging the death of his beloved is the story of Om Shanti Om. Om Shanti Om is a tribute, especially to the joyous and exultant era of Bollywood in the swinging 70s. It has captured the imagination of audiences worldwide with its dramatic storytelling, musical narration, and stunning performances, making it the biggest opening week grosser in the history of Indian cinema.

  • She started her film career as an assistant director in the films of Mansoor Khan and is famous for her exceptional choreography skills. She continued to develop her work in choreography with films like *Dil Se*, *Kuch Kuch Hota Hai*, *Kaho Na Pyaar Hai*, *Dil Chahta Hai*, and even choreographed for the British musical *Bombay Dreams* by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Her debut film, *Main Hoon Na*, was a huge global success, and *Om Shanti Om* is her second feature film.
