Synopsis
Baek Ho-bin, an undocumented immigrant in the U.S., marries a Korean woman named Jane to obtain a green card. Ho-bin and Jane begin living together, and Jane—who has lived an isolated life—starts to fall in love with him. After successfully passing the INS home interview, Ho-bin demands a divorce, but Jane refuses. In response, Ho-bin lies, telling Jane that his pregnant wife back in Korea has died, and lures Jane out with the intent to kill her. When the two arrive in Death Valley, Jane confesses that his wife, tired of waiting, actually had an abortion and married another man. Ho-bin then proposes that they take a “divorce trip” to Las Vegas.

- Bae Chang-ho
- Born in 1953 in Daegu, Bae Chang-ho graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in Business Administration. He began his film career as an assistant director under Lee Jang-ho and made his directorial debut with People of Kkobang Neighborhood (1982). Many of his 1980s works, including Whale Hunting (1984), Deep Blue Night (1985), and Our Joyful Young Days (1987), were both critical and commercial successes. He later showcased a more auteur-driven approach with films such as Hwang Jin-yi (1986), Hello, God (1987), and Dream (1990), offering deep cinematic introspection. More recently, he directed Trip, the fifth installment of the “Film, Meet Korea” project, continuing his consistent creative journey.
