Synopsis
Yeon-joo and Gae-young are the closest of friends, having been members of the same choir for seven years. Then there’s Seo-young, whose mother expects her to make up for her father’s failures. The choir is the only place she can actually breathe freedom. A solo audition opportunity arrives for the girls. Seo-young wins the solo part for an upcoming competition, but her mother refuses to let her devote more time to the choir and pulls her out of the group entirely. With Seo-young gone, Yeon-joo and Gae-young—who tied for second place—become rivals for the solo role. The teachers ultimately select Yeon-joo. Gae-young, filled with disappointment, eventually manages to congratulate her friend. One day, while practicing, Gae-young overhears a conversation between Yeon-joo and a voice teacher. Believing the teacher had plotted to give Yeon-joo the solo from the beginning, she is overcome by a sense of betrayal. Rumors about the alleged favoritism spread among the choir members. The next day, they bombard Yeon-joo with accusations, and, feeling cornered, she suddenly quits the choir. With both Yeon-joo and Seo-young gone, the group is in disarray—and the day of the competition arrives. The choir’s turn is approaching quickly, but soloist Gae-young is nowhere to be found.
