Synopsis

Chil-su is a talented artist. While waiting for an invitation from his sister in America, Chil-su quits his job painting theater signs and becomes Mansu’s assistant. Man-su suffers under the dark shadow of his father, while Chil-su gets dumped by Ji-na, a college student, and loses all contacts with his sister. One night after they finished a large billboard, the two rave around the tower goofing around. The police misunderstand and think that they are trying to kill themselves.

  • 1955년 1월22일 강원도 속초 출생. 서울대학교 미술대학 조소과를 나왔다. 이장호 감독의 연출부를 거쳐 1988년 <칠수와 만수>로 데뷔 했다. <그들도 우리처럼>(1990), <베를린 리 포트> (1991), <그 섬에 가고싶다>(1993) 등을 통해 사회에 대한 문제의식을 영화적 언어로 형 상화해냈다. 이후 디지털 옴니버스 영화 <여섯 개의 시선> (2003)과 <눈부신 날에>(2006)를 만들었다.
