Synopsis

The 75-year-old Saluzzi, a bandoneon player and composer, is the central character of the film. We meet him in Basel, rehearsing for a concert with George Gruntz. They recall when Saluzzi left home to live on Jazz in Europe. Another character is the German cellist Anja Lechner. We follow her to Yerevan, where she plays a concert and gets involved with Armenian culture. Later she records a new CD with Saluzzi in Argentina. Saluzzi takes Anja to the Andes, where he has his musical roots. There they also meet old friends, who have been playing popular dance music every Sunday until today.

  • Born in Bern in 1953. He studied at film schools in Munich and Paris and worked as an assistant before becoming a freelance writer, director, and producer since 1982.

  • Born in Bern. He grew up and studied in Switzerland and Spain, earning a Ph.D. from the University of Bern and graduating from the Madrid Film School.
