Synopsis

A small city in northern Saitama, Japan. The director and the manager of the only mall in the city plan to organize a civic jazz band to promote the city. They ask for the band training of someone who was once in a jazz band and is now a retired music teacher, but all the band members are too inexperienced to play instruments except the pianist girl. Can this band of people from all walks of life successfully perform the concert after three months?

  • He entered Waseda University Graduate School of International Information and Communication to study film. During his studies, his directed short film *The Birthday Present* won an award at an indie festival, and his medium-length film *Spirit of the Forest* won the Network Award at the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival.
