Synopsis
Phueng has had a dream of becoming a singer, but can’t help quitting school and helping with the farm work due to her poor living conditions. However, her soul has been nourished by traditional Thai country music, and she decides to go to Bangkok despite having no definite chance for her dream. She starts doing odd jobs in the band of Waipoj Petchsupan, a renowned figure in traditional Thai country music. She is recognized for her potential as a singer but falls in love with the band’s saxophonist, which leads to her being driven out of the band. Going from one nightclub to another, she meets teacher Mon Muangnua, who sees her talent and makes her a pop star named Pumpuang ‘The Moon’ Duangjan. However, her life at the top brings another kind of affliction. The film is based on the life of ‘The Moon’, a singer who was incredibly popular in Thailand.
