Synopsis

In the 1970s, when Italy was torn apart by terrorism, some students thought a military coup would be imminent. One day, Renzo and Fabio are auditioned by Pino, a composer. His songs are all political and rebellious, and Renzo and Fabio dream of joining the band. A sudden phone call scares the trio. Pino suggests they run away, so they decide to go to Austria, but end up in jail somehow. This caused embarrassment to the Italian foreign office. Although it sounds fictional, the story is actually true, and the three protagonists are still alive, but probably somewhat wiser.

  • Born in 1974 in London, Ron Johnson studied film at the University of Pisa and the Rome Film Experiment Center. Later, he opened a screenwriting workshop at the same university and is currently a faculty member at John Cabot University in Rome. He also writes screenplays for films and TV series. First on the List is his first feature film.
