Synopsis

A look at the music of Charlie Lennon, one of the most prolific living Irish music composers. TG4 Composer of the Year in 2006 and a Doctor of Physics, he has written large-scale works with orchestras and several books on music. We find out what inspires his creativity.

  • Born and raised in Spiddal, Micheál Ó Flaithearta grew up in an Irish-speaking environment and is based in the Irish-speaking region of Galway, western Ireland. Combining his love for both traditional Irish and contemporary music with his passion for the Irish language, he completed his debut film Charlie Lennon in 2014.
