Synopsis

​This film revisits the making of the 1964 Johnny Cash album [Bitter Tears: Ballads of the American Indian], a protest folk record advocating the Native American rights that was met with a severe backlash and placed him in the middle of fervent social upheavals gripping the USA at the time. The film includes performances and interviews from musicians Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch, Rosanne Cash, and comes at a time when America is once again gripped by racial tension.

  • 안토니노 담보르지오는 작가이자 영화제작자, 시각예술가이다. 2014년 소니 뮤직은 크리스 크리스토퍼슨과 에밀루 해리스 등 조니 캐쉬의 후배 가수들이 녹음한 [조니 캐쉬에게 바침] 음반을 발매했다. 담보르지오가 제작과 해설도 직접 쓴 이 음반은 본인의 책 [A Heartbeat and a Guitar]에서 영감을 받아 만든 것이다.
