Synopsis

​In 1347, Rienzi proclaims the establishment of the Roman Republic. Five centuries later, Wagner drew his inspiration from this true event to make a dark masterpiece about political corruption, ideals and treason. The film was shot during the rehearsals of Wagner’s opera French premiere. It tells the story of Rienzi, the revolution’s hero, seen by the direct witnesses of his political ambition.

  • 1970년생인 피에르-앙드레 블랭은 프랑스 툴루즈의 ESAV대학에서 영화를 전공했다. 현재 영화와 다큐멘터리 프로듀서로 일하고 있으며, <사라예보에서 온 소녀>(2007), <우양씨의 여행>(2012), <야마토>(2014) 등의 단편영화를 연출했다.
