Synopsis

​In 1866, 8000 Catholics including 9 missionaries from France died as martyrs in Chosun, and it was not until 20 years later that missionary works became legal. The works of French missionaries in Chosun were recorded and kept by a Catholic organization called ‘Paris Foreign Missions Society,’ and these records present the unknown history of 19th century Chosun. This film, together with Olivier Messiaen’s composition [Quartet for the End of Time] tells us extraordinary stories of the missionaries.

  • 1965년 태어나 고려대학교 경영학과를 졸업했고, 동국대학교와 용인대학교 대학원에서 영화를 전공했다. 단편 <지하생활자>와 극영화 <살인의 강>, 다큐멘터리 <한국번안가요사>등 다양한 독립영화를 연출했다. 2015년 작품 <다방의 푸른 꿈>은 제11회 제천국제음악영화제의 개막작으로 상영 되었다.​
