Synopsis

The film is set in a town with a symphony orchestra, managed by the authoritative and confident Paul Levald, who has conducted both the orchestra and his family affairs for years. Due to a dramatic event, Paul’s son-in-law, Egon Rei, must unexpectedly assume his duties. In addition to the baton, Egon inherits power, responsibility, tensions within the orchestra, and his father-in-law’s secrets and obligations from a complicated past. New lies emerge from old ones, and at some point, Egon realizes that revealing the truth might cause real chaos.

  • <Family Secrets> is Manfred Vainokivi's first feature film. In 1998, he founded the film production company Filmiivabrik and has directed approximately 130 television commercials and three short animated films.

  • Valentin Kuik
  • Valentin Kuik graduated from the Moscow State Institute of Cinematography in 1975 with a degree in film directing. His work, [Rebellion of Sons], won first place in the Estonian feature novel category in 1996. He has also directed eight feature films and 21 documentaries.
