The iconic jazz record label Blue Note Records has been home to groundbreaking artists such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Bud Powell, and Art Blakey, as well as contemporary musicians like Robert Glasper and Norah Jones. Through rare archival footage, current recording sessions, and conversations with jazz legends like Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter, as well as today's trailblazing Blue Note musicians, this film reveals a powerful mission and highlights the vital connections between jazz and hip hop.

Her debut feature documentary, The Quiet One: A Portrait of Harry Dean Stanton (2012), was first screened at the Venice Film Festival. Blue Note Records is her second documentary film.
