The Blue Hill is considered to have opened a new chapter in Korean music film. Singer Hyeon In whose hit songs include ‘The Moonlit Night of Shilla’ took the lead role, while the celebrated film score composer Hwang Mun-pyeong participate in the making of the film. (He also played a minor character.) Unfortunately, the film has been partially lost, but the parts that are still intact demonstrate the protagonist’s concerns and development as a musician. The film is a valuable historical record of the music culture of the time. (LEE Junhee)
