Program Note

This film was made for and by the Korean guitarist Shin Jung-hyeon, and became the motif for his hit song of the same title. In the midst of the B-movie sentiments and expressions that prevail throughout the film, ‘the beauty’s outcry’ poses a light-hearted critique of society in the mid-1970s. Director Lee Hyungpyo’s use of entertaining cinematic elements did not yield much success. Some knowledge of the filmmaking practices of the time is required for better appreciation of the film.
