Billie Holiday, the star of the time, is banned from singing "Strange Fruit" because the lyrics nakedly metaphorizes the oppressed minorities. She often stumbles with an unstable heart, but doesn't want to let go of the meaning in this song. Her voice surprises the country. The film depicts how Lady Day and her era were at odds behind music. Singer-actress Andra Day won Best Actress at the 78th Golden Globe Awards for her role as Billie Holiday. (NAM Sunwoo)
