‘Where does the sound of ghosts come from?’ The film opens with this question, one of many Kanako ponders with her friends. A guitarist in a band, Kanako loves listening to sounds of day-to-day life. One day, she boards a bus and overhears a melody hummed by a lady in a yellow dress. She later becomes the bridge between life and the great beyond, connecting two peoples longing for each other through the beautiful melodies she has been searching for. Her song is cheerful and the Mise-en-scène is beautiful. This Japanese ghost film is not eerie but rather elegant in how it connects two people from different worlds, albeit in a melancholic fashion.
