Program Note

This score was done on a very small budget in London. Sting and I are friends (he’s from Newcastle and acts in Stormy Monday) and he kindly agreed to sing three songs for the film. I produced the sessions in his house, and we recorded everything in a few hours. Much of the score is improvised - I brought musicians into the studio and they would perform whilst watching the film. Maggie Nichols is a free music singer with an amazing voice, I often use her for sessions. I play quite a bit of trumpet on the score.
