Program Note

"Near and Dear" refers to the nearest and dearest. It follows the final years of twin pianists Isabel and Amelia Cavallini, sisters who spent their entire lives together. Having achieved international fame in their youth, they now live out their days in a small apartment in Buenos Aires, looking at objects that hold memories. As their memories fade, their obsession with their cherished objects only grows. Director Maria Alvarez captures their reminiscences, their daily lives, and their old age as they await death.
