Synopsis

'Planet A' reflects the arrogant behavior of human animals who have come to dominate the earth, destroying other earthly life, nature, and ecosystems, justifying it as 'development' or 'economic growth' and evaluating themselves as good (A). An experimental omnibus musical documentary project designed to confront, solidarize, and struggle with the truth behind the system. After releasing a compilation album with musicians who sympathize with and stand in solidarity with social issues such as non-human animal slaughter, exploitation of female reproductive rights, refugee/disabled/LGBTQ/sex worker rights, climate crisis, and war, 15 music videos of all songs were produced and gathered together to showcase various perspectives and voices for the liberation of all. The OST features Dead Buttons, Huckleberry Finn, Videorose, HOOLA, NAKA, Iharu, IU, MIRU, MUTO, KAR, IU, Strange Fig, Fathamster, Villager, 1.5 Degree Chord, Park Sunjoo, and Aerial Shade.

Destroy! Just buy it! Throw it away! Just ignore it and look away! For your own peace of mind! When the movie starts, a warning from the director pops up. "Contains very realistic scenes that may be emotionally challenging." To categorize it, Planet A is an environmental musical documentary. It contains scenes of animal slaughter that you might want to look away from. Music, subtitles, and animation are all used to convey the story of how animals become food in a compassionate way. The film covers a wide range of social issues, from animal slaughter, feminism, refugees and the disabled, LGBTQ issues, climate change, and war, with music from 15 musicians. (Songhee Kim)
