Synopsis

Ever since he fell in love with the pianist Stella as a child, Manu's dream has been to meet her. To fulfill his dream, Manu starts a band with the shady Stefano as his manager. Manu is an energetic drummer and an outsider who has trouble finding his place in society. This is evident in his choice of broomsticks as his instrument of choice to play music and get the rhythm going.

Program Note

This latest Spanish animation is based on the book “Orkestra Lurtarra”, which won the Euskadi (Basque) Literary Award. The main character, Manu, falls in love with pianist Stella Panini as a child and dreams of meeting her for the rest of his life. One day, he decides to follow Stefano's advice and create a small orchestra to fulfill his dream. The movie follows Manu's musical journey as he gathers a group of flawed musicians to form a band and perform, while reflecting on the value of friendship and success.
