Synopsis

Hawfwen, a traditional ritual of the Chinese Zhuang people, where groups of men and women improvise responses to each other's songs, often in tribal temples or under old trees, is becoming less and less popular. The camera follows the traces and echoes of Hawfwen across mountains and cities, encountering mesmerizing sounds and diverse people.
