Synopsis

A documentary and dance film about the legacy of Friedrich Engels and a discussion of how memory is recorded in culture. Chinese artist Zeng Chenggang depicts the German social theorist, textile entrepreneur, and revolutionary in an exotic bronze sculpture. What forms and symbols do collective memories take that are meaningful to us, and why do we still remember Engels?
