Synopsis

When Sang-eun is hospitalized for chemotherapy behind her family's back, she learns of her grandmother's death and goes to the funeral, but is skeptical when she sees relatives trying to squeeze more out of her meager inheritance. There, she meets her childhood friend Eun-gyu's uncle and learns that Eun-gyu is hospitalized in the same hospital as her with terminal pancreatic cancer. When Sang-eun visits Eun-gyu's mother, she realizes that for some people, death can be more than sadness, it can be a fierce longing.

Program Note

Sang-eun visits a funeral home after her grandmother passes away. The family members gathered at the funeral show a cautious attitude toward death, but soon reveal their true feelings. Sang-eun's emotions are complicated when she hears about an old friend from an acquaintance. The friend's mother, whom she meets after the funeral, also pours out her feelings to Sang-eun, and Sang-eun is at a loss for words. The skillful performances of actors Park Ji-hong, Son Jong-hak, and Cho Eun-ji balance the heavy emotions of death and make the audience empathize with them. (Jeon Min-kyung)
