Synopsis
Seo-jun, a young man from a humble background, receives a scholarship and learns classical piano with the help of renowned pianist Son Eun-jung, aiming to win an international piano competition. However, he repeatedly loses to his rival Min-jae. After failing to win once again, he destroys the waiting room in frustration, only to be caught by Ji-soo, who uses the moment to blackmail him into doing her bidding. As they grow closer and eventually fall in love, Seo-jun begins to follow Ji-soo, a jazz pianist, and discovers a new passion for jazz. He starts performing at jazz clubs and loses focus on classical music. Eun-jung disapproves and even considers revoking his scholarship. With one final opportunity to compete before mandatory military service—and with Min-jae also entering the contest—Seo-jun must decide: can he prove his worth and carve out his own path as a pianist?
Program Note
Seo-jun (played by Kang Chan-hee) dreams of winning a competition to gain exemption from military service and pursue a career in Europe. He studies under the prestigious music professor Eun-jung (Kim Gyu-ri). Yet Seo-jun, who constantly finishes second or third, doesn't know what it takes to come in first. What once brought him joy now feels like merely a tool for success—and it's eating away at him. The film’s title, *Everything About You*, is the name of a jazz piece composed by Seo-jun, with lyrics written by his girlfriend Ji-soo (Han Seong-min). Unlike the cold, tense expression he wears while practicing for competitions, Seo-jun radiates happiness when creating this song—because it was written with Ji-soo in mind. The film suggests that love and passion might hold the answer to our inner conflicts. (Hur Nam-woong)
