Synopsis

Eleven-year-old Joong-geon, who harbors a violent streak he himself doesn’t understand, suddenly finds himself living with his ailing grandmother, Gook-hyang—an arrangement neither of them desired.

Program Note

Eleven-year-old Joong-geon often causes trouble due to his violent tendencies. When he begins living with his sick grandmother, he finds the situation unfamiliar and uncomfortable, which only amplifies his dissatisfaction. However, over time, the emotional and physical states both of them face become bridges to understanding, slowly bringing them closer. Joong-geon, who is emotionally scarred, and his physically frail grandmother are both in need of warm care, yet their circumstances offer little support. The mugwort rice cake they make together becomes a quiet medium for sharing their pain and healing. (Choi Eun-young)
