Synopsis

'Kyrie', a street musician who has lost her voice and communicates through song; 'Ikko', who wanders after losing both dreams and identity; and 'Natsuhiko', who waits after losing love—can these three endure the cold, unkind world together?

  • Born in Miyagi Prefecture in 1963, Shunji Iwai began creating a variety of visual works—including TV dramas and music videos—in 1988, building a signature style known as the "Iwai Aesthetic." Since his feature debut with Love Letter (1995), he has directed films such as Swallowtail Butterfly (1996), All About Lily Chou-Chou (2001), and Hana and Alice (2004). He continues to cross genre boundaries with works like the drama adaptation of Kyrie’s Song (2023), titled Luca on the Road (2024).
