'Mystery Universe' is a stage where you can meet musicians with distinctive personalities who seem to have come from an unknown part of the universe, wandering in unpredictable trajectories. Artists like Heize, Sunwoo Jung-A, So!YoON!, and SAAY will bring their special musical gifts from the universe to the audience gathered at the JIMFF Cheongpung Lakeside Stage, sharing their unique music that we may have never discovered before.

  • A composer, performer, and producer, Marcin Pukaluk is a true fan of silent films and frequently embarks on tours where he accompanies classic silent films with his live performances. With a solid musical background, he blends various musical inspirations (classical, ambient, folk, pop) to create music that is diverse both in style and structure. His work features sentimental Slavic melodies coexisting with grand orchestral pieces, while vibrant rock tracks blend with soft and spatial electronic sounds. After releasing their first full album [WE ARE THE NIGHT] in 2013, they released singles "Tiramisu Cake" and "Stars, Fire, Night" in 2015, followed by their second album [Stars, Fire, Night, and Such Things].   • 'The Egoist' tells the story of Apollo Shmigiev, a Ukrainian opportunist during the Soviet Civil War between 1917 and 1922, who tries to profit from the political chaos and power shifts in Kyiv. Apollo, an ambitious and fickle man, becomes the head of the local people's committee, but his thirst for profit leads him into increasingly dangerous situations. Riding a camel, he travels between the opposing camps of Bolsheviks, monarchists, and anarchists, driven only by his selfish desires. This comedic road movie mocks Bolshevik bureaucracy and the fanatical vanity of the White Guards, and is one of the rare early Ukrainian comedies that satirically depicts revolutionary propaganda, leading to its immediate ban upon release.
