Synopsis

My Way is much more than a song. This major score has crossed eras, borders and generations. My Way is also one of the most covered songs ever, from Sid Vicious to Tom Jones, not to mention Nina Simone or Pavarotti. However, many people are unaware that it was initially conceived in France, by the pool of Claude François' mansion on a summer afternoon in 1967, and that a succession of fortuitous meetings and sleepless nights had guided her across the Atlantic towards the man who would make her a legend.

Once a song is released into the world, it no longer belongs solely to its creator—it becomes part of the world. The film My Way quietly chronicles the journey of the iconic song My Way, from its first introduction to the world to the present day, transcending time, borders, and ideologies. It starts with the story of its original creator, French singer Claude François, and continues with the contributions of Paul Anka and Frank Sinatra, who brought the song its fame. The film then traces its evolution through the interpretations of artists like Elvis Presley, David Bowie, Nina Simone, and Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols, showing how 'My Way' became more than just a song, but a symbol. His passion for dance has led him to direct numerous documentaries such as La Cité de la Danse for France 2. His latest film, My Way(2024), a biopic about the famous song was officially selected at the Cannes Film Festival 2024.
