Synopsis

An unwanted cohabitation begins as an 11-year-old Jung-gun who innately bears unknown violence starts to live with his sick grandmother Gukhyang.

Program Note

Eleven-year-old Jung-gun, who frequently causes trouble due to his violent tendencies, becomes even more resentful when he has to live with his ailing grandmother, finding the situation unfamiliar and uncomfortable. However, as time passes, the psychological and physical challenges faced by both lead to a growing understanding and eventually a bond between them. Both Jung-gun, who is emotionally wounded, and his grandmother, whose body is failing her, are in need of warmth and care, though their circumstances are far from favorable. The mugwort rice cakes they make together serve as a kind of medium through which the two quietly share their feelings and heal their wounds. (Choi Eunyoung)
