Synopsis

Namwoo, who lives with his grandmother and mother in a remote seaside village, accidentally discovers a mysterious orb that transports him to a fantasy world inside a lighthouse. There, he meets a beautiful girl named Marie, who becomes his secret love. One stormy day, Namwoo rushes to the lighthouse to help save a fishing boat... Director LEE Sung-gang’s animated feature Marie's Story is a rare gem in Korea’s sparse animation scene. Renowned actors like Lee Byung-hun and Ahn Sung-ki lent their voices for the dubbing, and music director Lee Byung-woo composed the film’s beautiful soundtrack. The fantasy world reflecting a young boy’s loneliness is vividly portrayed, offering adult audiences a nostalgic look back at their own childhoods.
